Fifth win in a row in the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans secures the championship. Davide Arduini, Ezio Gazzola, Francesco Geniale and Davide Occhetto can finally celebrate
ELTA Customs #97 might be the living proof that in simracing giving up is not an option. Just 16 points collected in the first three races, and then an incredible streak of five wins in a row which led to the LMGTE title. ELTA Customs arrived in Le Mans with a 21 points advantage in the class standings ahead of #51 Wave Freem eSports Junior. This meant that #97 needed to finish 3rd or higher to secure the title.
The 24 hours of racing proved to be very tough but the Ferrari crew never gave up, just as they did in the previous rounds. As #51 hit trouble and VeM #90 disconnected losing a lot of time, ELTA Customs were definitely in a good position to win both the race and the title. The night in Le Mans, though, is always unpredictable. A slight touch to the wall in Indianapolis and then a massive shunt on Les Hunaudières caused by a contact with Wave Freem eSports #47 led to a 10-minutes pit stop for repairs.
Despite these scary moments, battle for the title was cut short by the accident that put Wave Freem #51 out of the race on Sunday morning. ELTA Customs managed to recover all the ground lost and win the race as well, putting the icing on the cake to a fantastic championship for them.
