The 2 Hours of Silverstone saw the debut of the Dpi class on e-Racing Series
Preseason event did not assign any points but gave us the opportunity to watch Dpi, LMP2 and LMGTE all together on track. As in the past editions, the prologue to the upcoming endurance season gave the chance to teams to not perform driver swaps or to split their lineups in more than one car per entry, to give the chance to Race Direction to evaluate as much drivers as possible.
Jean Alesi eSports Academy secured the win in a close Dpi class. Martin Dyrlund and Jordy Zwiers led the race for 42 of the total 66 laps and managed to finish ahead of Luca D’Amelio (LARP SimRacing Team) with a 4 tenths gap between the two entries. Third position for Lorenzo Arisi (Wave Freem) 2.7 seconds behind the winning car.
It was a close finish in LMP2 as well, with Paolo Pennimpede (ARMS Simracing) overtaking Frans-Jan Romme (Ground Effect ST) in the last minutes of the race to take the win. Again, it was a Wave Freem entry to complete the podium with Bettini and Beggi sharing the wheel of the Oreca.
Wave Freem won in LMGTE with Andrea Riccelli leaving behind all the Ferrari entries with his BMW M8. Former AKR driver was chased by Masciulli-Cavaciuti (Pescara ADG) and Caponi-Specchio (3DRap). HG Esports car, which started at the front, was forced to retire after an issue on Zanrosso’s hardware/software which put the car in neutral on the straight and broke the engine of his Ferrari 488.
